autumn...

...the season when we realise just how fast the year is going by and how very soon winter will be with us, we marvel at the cool foggy mornings and relish in what might be the last warm sun soaked day this side of the ski season...and me well I'm on a constant lookout for those delightful autumn tones!

my dad...

...my dad, Denis, is an incredible man, not only he is kind, supportive and generous but when he puts his mind to it he can do just about anything. Living just around the corner here we are lucky to be able to share our lives with his, something that at times may be taken for granted but never ever do I forget just how lucky we are.

Right now dad is building a boat, a skiff. I don't know much about boat building however after growing up with dad, visiting local yacht clubs together with visits to boat building friends, I have an appreciation for the craftsmanship and patience that it takes to delve in to such a project. It is with much enthusiasm and interest that I round the corner to dads place and wander into his carport where build is taking place. I value the lesson that this project of his is giving my daughter, to buy something is an action that anyone can take, but to create something with your own two hands is simply something else.

You can follow dads progress here -

and today...

...we had a ladies lunch to celebrate the April birthdays, just up the road (the big Balnarring one) at Yabbie Lake vineyard. Great food, fantastic wine, fabulous friends new & old and a perfect autumns afternoon!

it's all about grey...

Right now I have a thing for the color grey, it's a bit of a love hate thing as we are trying to determine the best greys for our newly renovated home. These foggy mornings are giving us plenty of grey and depending on it's thickness and time of day a whole spectrum of greys can be seen. I wonder if these cows on Lord Somers Rd. like this mornings grey?

And just in case you read this today or early tomorrow morning don't forget that it's Red Hill Market tomorrow - Easter Saturday - 8am to 2pm at the show-grounds. I have some new Mulbury Gallery frames in stock and some new signage that I am excited to display...hope to see you there!
