to start a new project (a very big project)..

so I am a little bit excited to be starting a new project, a very big project that will take some time to complete. I'll be working with fabulous new friend who has mountains of infectious energy, I challenge anyone not to be happy around her! Incorporating my love of food, photography, community and style - I just can't wait to tell you more!

in love with the show...

We popped up to Red Hill show today and well there was so much to do and see that we were pretty much there all day!

The weather was kind and friends were abundant so we couldn't have asked for too much more.

Big cows, big hats, ferret racing, wood chopping, great coffee, enough food choices to keep even the fussiest of eaters happy, crazy motorcross riders, a grand parade of all the animals and all within 15 minutes of home.

Oh and the photography contest, well I was fortunate enough to win several sections including Flora, Child Study and Black & White. The piece entered for the child study (Cabin fever - top left in pic below) also won Best Exhibit in the Open Section and the Black & White piece (Dragon Flight - right hand side in pic below) won both Best Black & White in the Open Section and the Best of the Best In Photography Section!

and today..

we simply just hung out in the cubby!

Oh how we love Mondays, a day of nothing after what are usually action packed, fun filled weekends and before what are typically routine filled, busy weekdays.

grape grazing...

I love this time of the year, when the nets from the masses of grape vines that populate our peninsula are lifted and when harvest is in full swing. As we take our daily trips to the shops and various activities we are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the fruits of the season and see the busy activity of collecting them in full swing.

These pics are from the vines at Mrs. Nick Vineyard on Myers road in Bittern.

Part of my role as a wedding photographer is to visit the locations for upcoming weddings and to familiarise myself with the stunning surrounds, determining the best spots for each shot in whatever conditions the weather brings.

I'm not sure if familiarising myself with the wines from each vineyard is just as vital but I'm happy to go with it if you think I should.

to enter...

so...here it is...I have entered the photography section of this years Red Hill Show which will be my first ever photographic competition.

Am I nervous?

You Bet!

Although my photography is constantly been reviewed and judged, either by market goers thinking about making a possible purchase or by prospective clients looking for someone to capture their magical moments, the notion of my work (my passion) been judged in a competitive setting makes me weak at the knees!

Here is what I will be entering...

It' s a great day out, perhaps I'll see you there - Saturday March the 24th

an education...

..so our renovations have started and this has come to me with some education.

Some of what I have learnt is just exactly what bearers and joists are together with standard kitchen bench dimensions and also just how high our 3 meter ceilings really will be.

What I have also learnt is that no matter how intently you watch the meteorology radar combined with any volume of positive thoughts you can not make the storms pass by Somers (and your half renovated home).
