Too hot!

I love Koalas, I always have and no doubt I always will, and as a faithful Somers resident I have taken some hundreds of photos of them! This little guy seemed to be struggling with our warm conditions today, with the mercury nudging 36 degrees C. He came and perched himself low in the tree, out of the harsh hot winds, where I imagine he was hoping for some shade.

New Additions

A is for Agapanthus

I don't love Agapanthus and don’t have them planted in my garden however I do appreciate their hardiness and strong sculptural form. Right now I enjoy the splashes of colour that they provide to our hot dry landscape and have noticed that they are becoming a rather popular addition to local gardens.

Somers Summers

What better way to end a long and oh so hot summers day than with an easy picnic on beautiful Somers beach. Lots of swimming, laughing and chasing seagulls, whilst enjoying the precious gift of a loving family.

The Mighty Toddler Mind

I had the most divine conversation with my toddler daughter this morning after she questioned why it was that the moon was still out when it was clearly day time. She wondered if perhaps the moon had broken down and couldn’t get home or perhaps it was actually night and that the sun had got up early. Whilst eating her morning tea and looking curiously at the sky she decided that it was ok for the moon to be up as there was enough room in the sky for both the moon and the sun, they can share she said. Problem solved!
